Contemporary artists at the Kröller-Müller
The Kröller-Müller has a large and varied art collection with around 20,000 paintings and sculptures. This collection consists largely of works by modern artists. Contemporary painting and sculpture also have a special place within our permanent collection. Among the contemporary artists represented are Roni Horn and Ger van Elk. Moreover, the work of contemporary artists is regularly featured in short-term exhibitions at our contemporary art museum in the Netherlands. Previously, our visitors have enjoyed the work of Jan Dibbets, Gilbert & George and Anish Kapoor, among many others. What is so special about the Kröller-Müller? The fact that you can also enjoy art outdoors! This is because the museum has a sculpture garden. And not just any sculpture garden, but one of the largest in Europe! The sculpture garden covers no less than 25 hectares and is filled with works by modern and contemporary artists. For example, Jan Fabre's series Chapters is a very special recent addition to the sculpture garden. And for Dutch contemporary art, how about Joep van Lieshout’s Mobile Home? Other contemporary artists you will find in our sculpture garden include: Richard Serra, Chris Booth, Heringa / Van Kalsbeek, Cornelius Rogge and Ewerdt Hilgemann.
